Lynchburg Letter: William Gayner to W. H. Loyd

My Dear Mr. Loyd:

I will remember July the 4th 1924 I spent part of the day at the Y.M.C.A Island where you & your family was enjoying the 4th.

Time makes changes. poor Mr. Eller is under the sod and the rest of us are scattered.

I am very busy repairing a furnace so as to get it to work. The Salem Glass Works are busy building another furnace & equipment. the Gayner Glass Wks are busy building two new modern cement & steel packing houses fire-proof. which will cost fifty to sixty thousand dollars.

I am glad to see them prosperous & making money and I knew there is money in the glass business[.] I had to sell all my Gayner Glass stock for fifty cents on the dollar & my stock is all gone.

I would like to see some one take hold of the Lynchburg plant & make it a success[.] I am sure it can be done - The Hay's Co did not look good to me

Please let me know who we bought the clay needles from & price.

Who is selling the American Jobbers Co?

Have you sold the (3) fruit jar machines?
